Learning to smile is everybodyĺs lifelong task. In this brief essay, the author offers an original viewpoint on the repercussion of a smile for the professional, familiar, and social life, as well as the positive effect it produces in oneself at any age. The reader will find plenty of reasons to smile and to spread such attitude around him.

Luis Carlos Bellido graduated in Law at the University of Salamanca. He has taught French and Latin at Highfield College, Leigh-on-sea, Essex, UK, has been a Spanish language assistant at the Woolwich Polytechnic and the Spanish Institute in London, and has taught English at the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He is a humanist, linguist, and tutor of great personalities, among them the prestigious art historian Arnold Hauser. For years he has been researching nonverbal communication, specifically the study of gestures.
